Voices of young professionals who are re-building their societies one day at a time
The European team of the REBUILD project was honoured to meet so many inspiring youth formal and informal organisations across Italy, Martinique, Greece, Cyprus, Lithuania and Spain!
Partners had the chance to discover the wonderful efforts made by young people in their countries, despite the COVID19 pandemic, who have continued to fight to make their societies more inclusive and environmentally-aware.
Despite being very unique in their profiles, what do they all have in common?
In a nutshell, resilience and the belief that society can only heal if young people will play their part. Well, they certainly have not abandoned their communities, some of them even returned from promising careers abroad.
These youth organisations and associations have found an innovative answer to the challenges created by the pandemic, and have decided to not give up to the forced isolation, general atmosphere of fear, economic loss, and difficulty to network we have been going through over the past 2 years.
On the contrary, they have found new ways to gather and join their passion and expertise to come up with initiatives of social regeneration and environmental awareness. Some of these young women and men are making the most use of digital means of communication to raise awareness about the environment, others are tangibly meeting local communities to propose alternatives to a general lack of resources, while others are acting as mediators between young people and public authorities to represent their unmet needs but also to emphasize their potential.
Through the REBUILD project, we will help them get more opportunities for networking, in order to build future collaborations and discover what sorts of issues they share during these challenging times and hopefully find common ways to overcome them. This webzine collects their voices, which we are excited to share with the public. They are re-building their societies one day at a time.
Enjoy your reading discovering the best practices in each of
the REBUILD partner countries.
