The REBUILD project launched in May 2021 to promote youth engagement in Europe is now in its core phase.
Project partners are training teams of young underrepresented people who will design and implement local activities that impact their society.
In May 2022 a 2-day International Youth-net Forum was organised in Palermo. Participants from European youth organizations had the chance to network and debate on future actions together. The forum marked the establishment of the international REBUILD network, bringing together the 6 local networks set-up across the 6 implementation countries.
The event in Palermo also supported the planning and development of the REBUILD Toolbox. The Toolbox, already in its final stages, will consist of a digital material that will provide useful non-formal education tools drawn from the social solidarity and green lifestyles initiatives identified as good practices and previously mapped. The Toolbox will be combined by a Youth Manual useful to guide the youth teams during the implementation of their local initatives.
As mentioned, now training workshops will be organised with underrepresented young people using non-formal activities and methodologies. These are aimed at creating and design small project ideas related to green lifestile and/or social inclusion which they will implement over a period of 4 months. All the ideas brought up during the workshops will be gathered in a Youth Initiatives Compendium. The document will contain details on the project proposals, justification, idea, resources and implementation schedule developed by the young participants during the training. The initiatives will be voted locally by a jury and online vote, and one winning team per country will be able to meet the other teams during and International Youth Summit in Brussels in the Spring of 2023.
The date of the event will be announced soon, so keep an eye out on our social networks! The project “REBUILDing society through youth engagement” aims to empower youth organisations/informal groups of young people, and underrepresented young people by enhancing their participation, dialogue, civic engagement and networking at local and EU level while supporting the rebuilding of inclusive and greener societies in the aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis.
The project is implemented by 7 partners from Italy (CESIE), Martinique – France (D’Antilles & D’Ailleurs), Greece (KMOP), Spain (AIIJ), Lithuania (Active Youth Association), Cyprus (CARDET) and Belgium (OTB).
